Information we collect
We only gather data that helps us operate and improve deckBit.AI. This includes:
- Account data such as name, email address, preferred language, and authentication metadata.
- Content you create or upload (deck titles, flashcards, labels) for the sole purpose of powering in-product features.
- Usage analytics covering feature adoption, clicks, and aggregated study metrics to understand performance.
- Device, log, and diagnostic data (browser version, IP subnet, error traces) to secure the platform.
How we use data
Data is processed to deliver the service, develop new learning experiences, and keep everyone safe.
- Provide and maintain core features such as spaced repetition, deck syncing, and billing.
- Personalize recommendations, language defaults, and onboarding nudges.
- Send transactional messages (password resets, payment receipts) and product updates you opt into.
- Detect abuse, investigate incidents, and comply with legal obligations.
Your controls and choices
You can access, update, export, or delete most personal data from the account settings area.
To exercise rights such as objection or portability, contact our team and we will guide you through a verified request.
When we share information
We never sell your data. Limited sharing happens only in these situations:
- With infrastructure vendors (hosting, analytics, payment processors) bound by strict data processing agreements.
- When you explicitly connect third-party tools or publish decks to the public marketplace.
- To comply with subpoenas, court orders, or to protect the rights and safety of our community.
Retention and deletion
We keep data for as long as you maintain an account or as required by law (e.g., tax invoices).
When you delete content or close your account we remove it from active systems within 30 days, followed by log backups according to our retention schedule.
International transfers
deckBit.AI runs on globally distributed infrastructure. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and industry best practices to safeguard cross-border transfers.
